Abstract: In this talk I will discuss modern science communication and the role of narrative visualization, using different narrative genres, such as InfoGraphics as they are used in visual abstracts. In the core part of the talk, I motivate narrative medical visualization aiming at broad audiences and patients and discuss selected aspects and applications of narrative medical visualization, such as the role and specific design of characters and stories related to preventable risk factors. I will emphasize re-usable strategies and components, including story templates and AI-generated character generation.
