Glyph-based visualizations can encode multiple data attributes at the same time through different visual channels, such as shape, size, color, orientation, or internal structure. While this allows a glyph to represent rich multivariate information, it can also make changes difficult to understand when several visual channels change at the same time.
This project will explore how to animate glyph-based visualizations so that these changes are easier to follow. Different animation designs, such as changing visual channels together or in different stages, can be explored to better communicate changes in multivariate data.
